Hey everyone! I have an exciting announcement I want to share- I started a podcast!
My travel podcast (surprise surprise) is called The Abroad Pod! I officially launched my podcast with a pilot episode and my first content-based episode on May 20, 2020 and now have several episodes live. You can find The Abroad Pod on Spotify and Apple Podcasts by just searching “The Abroad Pod”. You can subscribe to easily access and listen to my podcast whenever new episodes are released, just like this blog.
Each Wednesday, a new episode of The Abroad Pod will be released. After 2.5 years of blogging, I’ve learned that consistency is key. Whenever I upload regularly or am active on Pinterest daily, that’s when I see the most traffic drawn to my site. Consistency is how I reached over 100,000 monthly viewers back in January! So, I will try my best to upload podcast episodes regularly!
What You Can Expect to Hear From The Abroad Pod
In terms of format and what you can expect to hear from The Abroad Pod, my episodes will be about 30 minutes long. They will consist of a short intro, a travel how-to segment, which will be the bulk of the episode, a 10 minute country-specific destination segment, and finally an outro! The travel how-to/topic will differ each week, but my ultimate goal is to educate you guys on new tips, tricks, trends, etc. each episode! I have a long list of topics I want to cover, but if anyone has any ideas please leave a comment below or message me on Instagram!
The country segment is exactly what it sounds like- it’s a segment focusing on a new country each week! This segment will not only cover the “fast facts” such as country currency, geographical location, language, etc., but I’ll also provide some background information on what brought me to that country and what I recommend doing there. This segment is directly based off of the country-specific blog posts I’ve written. They can all be found here under the Destinations menu! Since I want to provide high-quality content, I will only be discussing countries that I’ve personally been to. Beginning with the United States and North America, I will be moving my way around the world each week!
Why I’m Starting a Podcast
I am so excited for this journey and hope you all are as well. As resourceful as this blog may be, I thought it might be helpful to share my content in an audio format as well, especially for all you busy gals & guys on the go! I am personally a huge podcast listener, and find that I’m always playing them, especially when I’m driving. I hope by sharing travel content on both my blog and podcast I can reach more people.
Additionally, as much as I love this blog and what I’ve made of it over the past 2.5 years, I felt ready to take on a new project and challenge myself to learn some new skills. Recording and editing audio hasn’t been easy (each episode takes me about 3 hours to produce), but it’s been really fun! Now that college is over and quarantine is still well underway, I’m excited to have a new passion project to work on.
With all that being said, thank you to everyone who has supported this blog! I hope you also take a listen to The Abroad Pod and continue to read my posts. Also, please feel free to share any feedback with me! I’m still learning and am very open to constructive criticism!

Ep. 8: This episode is the second in my Abroad Series, and is all about Semester at Sea! This week I’m joined with my childhood bestie, Emily Rakers, to talk all about her experience onboard Semester at Sea! We discuss her classes, day in the life, port visits, skydiving, shark cage diving, and so much more. Whether you’re considering this abroad program or just want to learn about a really unique travel opportunity, you won’t want to miss this one!
